Abigail Garcia Schmidt
Abigail first began working in the Art Department in 2022, starting out as an on-set dresser for a feature-length graduate film at San Diego State University. Since then, she has worked on multiple productions as Production Designer, Art Director, Set Dresser, Prop Master, and Art Assistant — on both student films and independent productions.
She graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State in 2024, with a Bachelor of Science in Television Film, and New Media Production, and two minors in LGBTQ+ Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Based in Los Angeles, she now works freelance, fulfilling a variety of different roles within the art department in production.

Escapist Route
Beyond her work in the art department, Abigail also dedicates time to a number of other creative pursuits. “Escapist Route” has become the name given to her collection of solo pieces, which includes written works, short films, pieces of experimental media, and more.
